Ice-America is hiring for the 2026–27 Winterland season at Heartwood Preserve. We’re looking for energetic, dependable team members to help create a safe, welcoming and enjoyable experience for guests throughout the holiday season.
Winterland is located at Heartwood Preserve, 301 South 145th Street, Omaha, NE 68154, and will operate October 31, 2026–January 18, 2027. Seasonal positions require availability during evenings, weekends and holidays, with some roles involving outdoor work in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
General Manager
Full-time | Temporary/Seasonal
Pay: $24.00–$27.00/hour ($1,680–$1,890/week), dependent upon experience
Ideal availability: October 20, 2026–January 22, 2027
Ice-America is seeking an energetic, experienced leader to oversee day-to-day operations of the Winterland ice rink. The General Manager will supervise the rink operations team, manage staff scheduling and payroll, maintain strong relationships with the client and community, identify and address safety hazards, and ensure Ice-America operational and customer-service standards are maintained.
Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Experience with ice skating, rink operations, production and/or competition is preferred, along with Microsoft Office proficiency. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred but not required.
Ice Technician
Full-time | Temporary/Seasonal
Pay: $24.00–$25.00/hour ($1,680–$1,750/week), dependent upon experience
Ideal availability: October 20, 2026–January 22, 2027
Ice-America is seeking an experienced Ice Technician to maintain the quality, safety and operation of the Winterland ice rink. Responsibilities include daily ice maintenance and resurfacing, operating the ice resurfacer, monitoring ice conditions, responding to changing weather conditions, identifying equipment concerns, and assisting with mechanical and general rink operational needs.
Ice maintenance and resurfacing experience is required. Candidates should also have strong mechanical and problem-solving skills. Refrigeration system knowledge is helpful, while basic plumbing and carpentry skills are beneficial. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred but not required.
Skate Monitors / Skate Hosts
Part-time | Seasonal | Ages 16+
Pay: $16.50/hour
On-ice position
Skate Monitors and Skate Hosts help maintain a safe and positive experience on the ice. Team members monitor on-ice safety, enforce the Code of Conduct, assist fallen or struggling skaters, help with skate rentals and the skate-lacing area, and support ice maintenance and general rink operations.
Applicants must be experienced figure and/or hockey skaters and have strong customer-service skills. Resumes should include the applicant’s ice-skating background.
Cashiers / Skate Hosts
Part-time | Seasonal | Ages 16+
Pay: $16.50/hour
No skating required
Cashiers and Skate Hosts serve as a key point of contact for Winterland guests. Responsibilities include providing excellent customer service, assisting with skate rentals and the skate-lacing area, working at the greeter/waiver stand, assisting in the rink office, helping guests follow the Code of Conduct, and supporting general rink operations as needed.
